TONS of reports regarding MSI product firmware fails. I go on the discussion boards and discover this 'bricking' while updating the Bios is endemic (not 'pan'demic) to the brand. But then I attempted using their recommended 'M-Flash' (located as an option when booted into BIOS) to update to the newest firmware and it instantly bricked! Purchased a new MSI motherboard on Amazon (MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi ATX Gaming Motherboard) and had no issues with my FIRST Bios update. Built my 4th PC, no issues, and everything came together beautifully. I give them a pass though, because you don't have to use it. Bit confusing and it often doesn't detect 3rd.party RGB devices. The main issue with their polychrome software is how long it takes to start up, once it's up it works. Hey gigabyte, my start menu does that, I don't need your shitty bloatware software that tells me there's a software update each time on startup, but then doesn't detect any updates once it's open.Īsrock aren't too bad. Which is literally a launcher for gigabytes programs. And you can't run RGB Fusion without app center. Once again.assuming it actually detects your hardware. It takes forever to load, which is interesting because it looks like it was designed in MS Word, with its times New Roman Font and it's 16x16 icons.
Gigabyte app shop & RGB Fusion is just straight up trash. And conveniently if you want to reinstall it, you can't. But then if you want to uninstall it, because it leaves so much shit around your pc it never deleta everything. Assuming if actually installs properly (they cant even get a working installer, not a good start), it almost never picks up your hardware properly, and when it forgets any settings you had applied.
